What tends to govern

Multi-residential sites carry a mix of requirements on one property: an amenity area that may need a pool enclosure, waste and mechanical enclosures that need screening, and shared boundaries where appearance matters to residents on both sides.

Pool enclosure requirements are set by municipal by-law and vary across Ontario. Height, picket spacing, ground clearance, gate self-closing and self-latching hardware and latch height are all governed. Verify the by-law before specifying.

This describes intended applications and available solutions. It does not reference completed Palisaro projects, because there are none to reference.

Governing priorities

  1. Pool enclosure by-law compliance, verified per municipality
  2. Screening for waste and mechanical areas
  3. Appearance from both sides of a shared boundary
  4. Resident and visitor access control
  5. Durability under constant low-level use
